High Season Checklist: 7 Things Your Business Profile Must Have Ready

Costa Rica's tourism high season brings a surge of international visitors. Make sure your restaurant or hotel profile is ready to convert searches into reservations.

High Season Checklist: 7 Things Your Business Profile Must Have Ready

San José, Costa Rica. May 23, 2026. Costa Rica sees a significant spike in international arrivals during the July-August high season, according to the Instituto Costarricense de Turismo (ict.go.cr). For restaurant and hotel operators, that traffic represents real revenue, but only if travelers find accurate, compelling information when they search online. An outdated or incomplete profile can quietly cost you bookings you never knew you lost.

What Does a Traveler See When They Search for Your Business?

International visitors have no prior knowledge of your restaurant. They rely entirely on what appears in search results. If your hours are wrong, your photos are stale, or recent reviews have gone unanswered, many travelers will simply choose a competitor. The good news: a few focused updates before the season starts can make a measurable difference.

Pre-Season Profile Checklist

  • Current hours: update your schedule to reflect July and August operations, including local public holidays.
  • Fresh photos: add recent images of your dining room, seasonal dishes, and outdoor seating if available.
  • Categories and attributes: confirm that cuisine type, group options, and accessibility features are correctly marked.
  • Responses to recent reviews: a profile with unanswered reviews signals neglect. Aim to reply to at least the last ten.
  • Active phone number and booking link: test both on a mobile device to make sure they work without friction.
  • Business description: include a sentence noting whether you offer an English menu, accept large groups, or have vegetarian options.
  • A seasonal post: publish at least one update before July to signal that your business is active and engaged.
